Welcome and introduction.
Dr Kuganolipava and Dr Chaudery thanked everyone for attending the meeting and for giving up their time to be part of the PPG. The input from the PPG has been invaluable over the past 12 months.
Staff updates
There have been several staff changes at Elizabeth House and the partners felt that it was important to update the PPG.
We have a new practice nurse – Joanna Khorshid. Joanna is very knowledgeable and experienced; she has worked in the community for many years. She is a valuable asset to our team.
We also have 2 new receptionists; Zoe and Lynsey. Both have settled in very well.
Dr Qureshi, our GPST3 registrar doctor, will be staying on for a further 2/3 months, with Dr Parry as her GP trainer. In addition, we have 2 further GP trainees, Dr Khan who is also a final year GPST3 doctor who will be with us for the next 2/3 months, and Dr Musa who is a final year GPST3 joining us in August. Their GP trainer will be Dr Chaudery. Dr Jegardasan, a Foundation Year 2 doctor will be joining us in August with Dr Lauret as her trainer.
All of our trainee doctors will be fully supported by our doctors at the practice to develop their skills in caring for patients in the community.
Update on Appointment System
NHS England are implementing policies to encourage GP practices to move to an ‘online form’ booking system. These changes are aimed at reducing the ‘8am scramble’ to book a GP appointment. Our online access forms are available for our opening ours however patients are also able to contact us via the telephone. This is to ensure we remain digitally agnostic to allow patients who may struggle with either mode of contact the choice of how they wish to reach us.
Update on top floor conversion & Further improvements to the building
We are pleased to announce that we have now completed all the renovations to the top floor, hosting DHC outpatient clinics. DHC is a GP federation service that offer over 4000 outpatient appointments per month already in Surrey. The official opening date is 15th July 2025.
Services that will be available include;
Cardiology, Care of the Elderly, Orthopaedics (foot and ankle), and ultrasound. We are hoping to have Dermatology, Gastroenterology, Gynaecology and other specialist clinics in the coming weeks and months. Ultrasound is available in the new clinic also.
We are very excited to offer this service to our patients as it allows patients to visit consultants locally rather than travelling to hospital.
For patients that need furthers tests i.e. MRI. They will be referred to local independent hospitals, under the NHS pathway, usually Gatwick Spire or Ramsay Health hospitals locally.
Our next project is to improve the staff parking area at the front of the building to increase the number of parking spaces for the doctors and consultants. This is due to commence in the next few weeks.
Winter flu and covid vaccinations
We are in the process of planning our winter flu and covid clinics. They will commence at the beginning of October and invites will be sent out shortly. We also plan to arrange a clinic timed with when we have health champion sessions and details will be sent in the next month.
Development of PPG
The practice are keen to hear from any members of the PPG who have identified any areas that the practice could focus on. We would also like to grow the PPG group and encourage more members to join
Patient satisfaction survey
We are very excited to announce that we achieved a 95% overall experience satisfaction score in the latest national GP patient survey. We believe we have been ranked joint 3rd highest score surgery in Surrey (official rankings still pending). We are committed to providing an excellent service so we are extremely pleased with this result. We thank all our patients for their support.
Frailty Clinic
Dr Kuganolipava has recently starting visiting our frailty patients at home on Monday mornings as one of 2 Frailty Lead GPs covering North Tandridge. She offers a comprehensive assessment and support to our elderly patients, aiming to improve their health and wellbeing.
